UK’s businesses fail to reap the benefits of SMS marketingAccording to a new report from Textlocal, half of UK’s companies don’t use SMS for advertisement. This leaves a lot of room for growth in this sector.
Based on the poll that surveyed a thousand users, there are about 80 million active mobile users in Brittain, however only half of businesses use SMS-based marketing.
The news is not as bad as they sound, as by 2020 mobile marketing reach will increase from 37.2 million to 48.7 million users. Should the trend continue, SMS-based marketing will become the fastest growing channel in the country.
UK’s communication regulator, Ofcom, said that 933% of the country’s population owns a mobile phone with the majority carrying them around for 16 hours a day.
